Yellows, I thought this would be a more challenging colour to creat but i was so wrong. This week used weld and rhubarb leaf to create yellow. You didn’t need a mordant for weld as there’s a lot of tannins in it already. After dying the fabric by adding it to a vat, we started to learn all about modifying colours by over dying it. We learnt all about adding iron to water and adding in the dyed yellow to get different shades of green, which is one of the hardest colours get. I found this so interesting and felt all my natural dye info could link really well to my sustainability project as chemical and synthetic dyes are such polluters to main stream water sources.
