week 3

 Week 3 

Monday - today we made our linings for our collar and revere, this was similar then I had anticipated. I was able to get to grips with what was going on quite quickly I did manage to make and attach my lining in the lesson without any problems. I did have to learn how to correctly sew the darts as pleats so that there more room in the lining to get it on the model with ease and so it wasn’t too tight. 

Tuesday - to finish out our print techniques we did heat transfer. I liked somewhat how I started but I think towards the end I was getting lost with what I needed todo. I think I lost direction as I was just trying to use up the pages I painted up. To combat this next time, I’m going to display my original images in a more visible place so I know what ti refere back to when I start to lost my direction. 

Wednesday - today in pattern cutting we working on making the 2 part sleeve for the jacket, this was one of the easier things to do as there was clear reasoning as to why I was doing what I was doing. we then made the lining for this which I struggled a bit more with, but I was able to over come my challenges by trusting the process of what I was doing. I was able to successfully finish the sleeve and lining and attach them to my garment which I was very proud of. 

Thursday - Today I finished designing and had final design approved. I also approved the fabrics I was planning on using at the same time, so I was all set and ready to go for pattern cutting. I did have to leave early for an appointment this day.
