Week Eight of FMP

Week Eight of FMP Monday - Corset course, please see week Seven Tuesday - today I was meant to start my toile but I hadn’t finished designing because I was struggling to cut down my my designs to get to final. So I spent today going back and forth getting feedback and changing my designs to make them better. Wednesday - I focused on getting my blog up to date today and finishing off my final design and starting to toile for it. Toiling included ordering all the fabric I was going to need for my toile as I’m not using just cotton fabric so I didn’t want to use calico. My design suit needed some little tweaks to make perfect. I started making my corset patterned today I did this by using draping tape over a mannequin then covering it in fabric which worked really well for me because my Manniquin was the exact same size measurements as my model so it should fit her perfectly. Thursday - today I brought in my faux leather and I made my corset toile using the patterns I made on Wednesday. This looked really good and I was pleased with the out come. I also made a book tour video today so do check that out on my instagram. Friday - today I started working on my bustles and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out different structures I could use as I was struggling to find the right structure to hold the size and weight I was after. I also created my fashion flats today so they were ready for critique on Monday. Saturday - I started working on my patterns for my shift dress today. I made them with the size 12 skirt and bodice block. And I decided to give it the shape I was after I wasn’t going to see the darts as I wanted it to hang off the body. I made it as awhile front and back piece for both the top and bottom half as I felt this would be easier because it’s Asymmetric.
