fashion in motion show

Fashion show

What an experience. I have the opportunity to go and see the fashion in motion fashion show which was not exactly what I expected to day the least. We went to see the 8pm showing at the Victoria and Albert museum, which I love because it’s such a beautiful space to be in. We arrived and queued where we got to see some designer and some very fashionable and experimental people walk passed which was so interesting to see because I really want to experiment with my style and seeing other people do such weird and wacky things with there look is so inspiring. When the queue started to move we were walked into a hug grand room that was darkened with a stage with a box structure in the middle with a full covered model wearing a black skin tight suit with brightly coloured sparking rhinestones cascading down her body. She was still, so I didn’t realise it was a model until she moved with made me jump a little. We were usher in to stand around and waited for the show to begin. The show started with the designer coming out and dressing the model in clothing using it in different ways around the body, it was really strange to see but so intreging to see and mesmerising to watch. They had loud beats playing in background which were kind of overwhelming. It was really consuming to watch the designer work on the model and work with the model to create something so beautiful out of what is kinda random clothing items. Towards the end of the show the designer finished and left the stage allowing the model to show off his creation. This model was really able to work the stage even though it was small and she couldn’t really see. She was walked off the lights come on the other garments that were spread around the room allowing the audience to look around room and look at the art the designer has created out of “random” materials like nappy’s and horse riding kit. This was really inspiration to see for my sustainability project as I really want to make single use materials in my garment it’s also inspiring to see designers thinking about sustainability and what that have around them to create gorgeous runway looks.
